Car detailing or vehicle detailing is the process of restoring a vehicle to a brand new condition. Vehicle detailing is a lengthy process that includes cleaning and refurbishing the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The purpose of this is to restore the quality of the paint by removing paint defects such as scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, etc., so that the vehicle looks like new. Many people mistakenly believe that car details are all about ceramic coatings. Truth be told, the ceramic overlay is only an option at the detailing stage of the vehicle.

Car details are divided into two parts: interior details and exterior details.

Exterior Vehicle Detail - This includes vacuuming, restoring and surpassing the original condition of the exterior parts of the vehicle, such as tires, windows and wheels, as well as other visible parts. Products include, but are not limited to, polishes, waxes, cleaners, and degreasers.

Interior Vehicle Detailing - Interior detailing involves cleaning the interior parts of the vehicle. Some of the components found in the interior cabin include leather, plastic, vinyl, carbon fiber plastic and natural fibers. To clean the interior cabinets, different techniques are used, such as steam cleaning and vacuuming.

Exterior car details

Exterior car detailing is more than just a quick wash on the exterior of the car. A good car groomer will make the car sparkle, minimize surface scratches, and a barrier paint sealer should always be used.

Common external processes include:

Wash and Dry - Unlike car washes, details are done by hand. The first step is to spray the car with a high-powered, specialized spray, followed by a thorough hand wash of the car's rims, door frames, glass and all exterior parts that need cleaning.

Clay - Clay sticks are used to remove any impurities, overspray marks and residues that other ordinary cleaners can't remove.

Polishing - It is normal for a car to lose its luster or shine after it has been in use for a while. Therefore, in the process, the original polishing is restored.

Sealing - To give the car a glossy finish, apply a sealant and, in some cases, wax.

Other exterior services that can be done include trim repainting, engine detailing, headlight polishing, engine pressure cleaning, bumper repairs, glass shard repairs, and paint touch-ups.

Finally, car washes and details should include analysis of all types of paint, previous and current damage such as peeling, flaking, cracking and repainting, exterior condition and rust analysis, acid damage and other oxidative effects. Regular car detailing adds value to your car and looks attractive despite being in use for years.
